orange-aeroA leading UK firm in the supply of truck and forklift attachments has come to the aid of one of its customers, helping them to solve a complex handling hitch.

Newtown-based Contact Attachments recently supplied a pair of specially designed fork extensions to dedicated provider of components for aircraft gas turbine jet engines, Orange Aero.

David Manuel, Technical Sales Consultant at Contact Attachments, commented: “Our fork extensions offer a safe, reliable and efficient way of increasing the existing length of a forklift fork when handling long or unstable loads.

“When Orange Aero approached us, they were looking for a mechanism that would enable them to effectively handle large pallets up to 1500kg in weight and after in-depth consultation with the client, we were able to supply a product specifically for this requirement.”

Manufactured to a high quality, heavy-duty standard, Contact Attachment’s fork extensions are designed to slip over existing forks on a truck to give increasing lifting length. Produced from 8mm thick steel pressing with additional 5mm thick internal steel strengthening plates, they are ideal for those looking for a durable and long-lasting handling solution.

Facilities Manager at Orange Aero Ltd, said: “We were delighted with the level of service we received from Contact Attachments, as well as the swift and speedy process from purchase to delivery.

“The end-product was perfectly suited to our needs and had Contact Attachments not been able to supply us with these heavy duty fork extensions, we would certainly have faced a real issue in being able to handle a pallet of this scale.”

Contact Attachments has been designing and manufacturing forklift truck attachments from its base in Newtown, Mid Wales, for over 40 years and is recognised as the quality leader of truck attachments in the UK.
