Palletised distribution specialists Palletline Plc have announced their roll of honour for 2009 with the presentation of Annual Palletline Awards, recognising the significant achievements made by individual Member Companies during the past twelve months.
The Awards are hotly contested and coveted by Palletline depots as a real measure of achievement and recognition, voted by their peers across the UK.
Top honours as Depot of the Year 2009, awarding excellence across the board including exceptional levels of customer service, flexibility and consistency, went to Wrexham-based Edge Transport Ltd. Success in this category – which is judged purely on votes from peers – underlines continued dedication to performance and quality. This family-owned business has been consistently in the frame at the Palletline Awards over the years, winning the top prize no fewer than six times since inauguration of the Awards in 1993.
One of the most important awards of this year’s event was the Palletline People Award, sponsored by Xclusive Recruitment. This Award, voted for by the entire Palletline community, is given to an individual based on his or her commitment to the real spirit of the network. The Award went to Finance Director Ruth Moor for her unswerving contribution both to Palletline and to the ongoing commercial successes of its individual Member Companies.
In line with Palletline’s focus on quality, the Awards line-up also includes a commendation for Delivery Depot of the Year, rewarding compliance with network requirements, accuracy and sustained service levels.
This Award is split into three levels to reflect pallet volumes handled. Top performers in the Level 1 category were Market Harborough-based Sanderson Transport, with Newport’s Alan R Jones & Sons Ltd taking Level 2 award and Southampton-based Lambert Brothers Haulage Ltd scooping the prize for Level 3 volumes.
Reflecting Palletline’s proactive approach this year to business development support, the Business Development Award went to Nottingham’s Clearway Distribution Ltd, recognising the company’s year on year increase in volumes as well as investment in sales resources.
The New Depot of the Year Award, identifying the best newcomer of 2009 based on a range of criteria including customer service levels, delivery service provision and overall helpfulness went to Rochdale-based Leach Distribution.
The Exceptional Contribution Award is voted for by Palletline’s Board of Directors and is presented to honour an individual within the network who has over many years made an exceptional contribution to its ongoing success. This year, this very personal Award went to Dave Marris from Caistor Distribution Ltd in recognition of his services to the Palletline network over almost two decades.
