National supply chain specialist TM Logistics (TML) has appointed a new fleet manager to help drive forward its business growth.
The Midlands-based firm has recruited fleet expert Howard Rowbotham to manage its fleet of 200 trucks and 300 trailers.
Based at the company’s headquarters in Worcestershire, Mr Rowbotham will be responsible for managing relationships with TML’s service providers and dealing with repair and maintenance costs. He will also be providing technical support and compliance assistance to the firm’s 16 depots across the UK.
“With almost 30 years experience in the transport sector, Howard is a valuable addition to the TML team and we’re delighted to welcome him on board,” said Adam Purshall, TML’s head of fleet.
Most recently employed by Wincanton as a fleet engineer, Mr Rowbotham is looking forward to using his skills to further improve links between TML’s fleet department and the depots it serves.
“Over the years, TML has invested significantly in its fleet which boasts some of the latest green technologies and hi tech equipment available,” said Mr Rowbotham.
“My role is to ensure that it continues to run smoothly, whilst simultaneously increasing overall efficiency and service delivery. It’s a challenging role and one I’m excited about getting my teeth into.”
In total, TM Logistics employs over 350 people in 16 on-site operations and warehouses across the UK. The firm operates throughout the UK and ranks many top name companies such as Bosch Thermotechnology Ltd, Crown Food UK, Kingspan Insulation, Rexam Beverage Can UK Ltd, Saint Gobain Isover and Plastic Omnium amongst its customer portfolio.
