mobile_loaderRecognised world-wide for the quality of their telescopic belt conveyors, Caljan Rite-Hite is often first choice when it comes to loading equipment for premises without a raised loading dock. Surprisingly few suppliers of conveyors are able to supply a mobile solution for loading and unloading goods from small vehicles, which was precisely what Domo Elektro in Belgium required.

Ms. Clara Claes from Domo Elektro relates “we were intent on improving effectivity whilst providing ergonomic working conditions for the employees involved in emptying containers. This proved to be something of a challenge as our facilities are not equipped with a traditional loading bay. Caljan Rite-Hite’s mobile loader is the perfect solution as the height of the conveyor can be adjusted to suit the various vehicles that the goods are transported in.”

Test under realistic conditions prior to purchase

Caljan Rite-Hite’s mobile loader is extremely flexible, the height of the elevated belt and the tail belt can be adjusted to the appropriate working height. When testing the equipment prior to purchase Ms. Claes could ascertain that even large boxes containing household appliances were carried easily along the flex rollers and down the elevated belt. The structured surface of the belt ensured that cumbersome and often heavy boxes didn’t fall off, despite the steep descent. Ms. Claes is happy with her decision to buy Caljan Rite-Hite “The workflow is much improved, as are the working conditions for those involved as the work is less strenuous. We actually need only two people to unload a container. Previously three were involved, so we have optimised capacity too.”

Versatile and handy

The mobile loader is designed for daily use. Ergonomics have been very much in focus during the development phase; the height of the elevated conveyor can be adjusted to suit the height of the vehicle and a screw-jack is used to adjust the tail conveyor to the height of a subsequent conveyor or perhaps a pallet. A powered flexible conveyor extends the length of the vehicle, so the operator simply has to place the items being loaded onto the conveyor, alternatively remove the items from the conveyor. Pushing a button on the control panel reverses the belt direction, so that the conveyor can be used for loading or unloading as appropriate. Sturdy wheels enable the loader to be moved smoothly across the floor surface, so that it can be moved away from the door when not in use.

Various options and/or upgrades can be added to ensure that the equipment continues to meet your requirements throughout its lifetime.
