europes-largest-plastic-pallet-box-stirs-interest-in-the-uk-1-high-resGoplasticpallets.com, the UK’s leading independent supplier of plastic pallets, is stirring considerable interest in the UK with Europe’s largest plastic pallet box.

Designed by Belgian manufacturer IPS, Goplasticpallet.com’s GoBox 1311 offers a storage capacity of 1,400 litres, which makes this pallet box ideal for large-volume storage needs.

Jim Hardisty, Managing Director of Goplasticpallets.com, commented: “In Europe, the 1,400 litre container box is used extensively by the fruit and vegetable industry and this is where I see our GoBox 1311 taking off in the UK. The strong and simple package is perfect for bulk handling and transportation and equally suited to automatic conveyor systems, and tipping applications where its rigid design easily withstands the pressure created during this process.”

The GoBox 1311 is available in two versions – solid (LRS) and perforated (LRP), with replaceable skids to aid transportation. Stacking is facilitated by a stacking rim and anti-slip pads, allowing the box to be easily piled up to seven high. Impact-resistant corners and reinforced cavities ensure the box has a long service life, in most cases up to 10 years, and a built-in label holder makes it easy to track and identify goods. Supplied from stock in blue or dark grey as standard, the 1,400 litre plastic pallet box is available in virgin and recycled food-grade approved raw materials (HDPE).

Optional features include secure-fitting lids, corporate personalisation with a choice of name, logo or numbering, and an extended colour range available upon request for orders in excess of 500 units.
Hooking the Highland Council

europes-largest-plastic-pallet-box-stirs-interest-in-the-uk-3-high-resIn April, Goplasticpallets.com was approached by the Highland Council, who were looking for a practical and cost-effective solution for their large volume storage needs. Here, Jim Hardisty, Managing Director of Goplasticpallets.com, explains how its largest plastic pallet box has transformed the face of a Scottish harbour.

The Highland Council maintains seven major harbours and a number of other small piers and jetties throughout the Highland Regions of Scotland. The fishing industry remains an important feature of harbour life and it is the responsibility of the Highland Council Harbours Authority to preserve the local environment. The Highland Council contacted Goplasticpallets.com looking for a solution for storing the harbour’s fishing nets and equipment out-of-doors and that’s when we recommended the 1,400 litre pallet box.

Storage capacity was definitely a driving factor in selecting the GoBox 1311. We supplied 43 plastic pallet boxes offering a total of 60,200 litres storage space, which allowed the Highland Council to store away all of its fishing gear and improve the upkeep of the harbour.

Since the boxes were required for outside use, we advised that the solid LRS version would be more suitable as the closed construction carries the additional benefit of being completely water-resistant – of course both the closed and perforated versions are UV-resistant, and ideally suited to harsh outdoor use. We also supplied the boxes with lids to maximise the weather resistance and security.

It was essential that the boxes were hard-wearing to protect the Highland Council’s fishing supplies and withstand the often harsh harbour environment. With impact-resistant corners and reinforced cavities, the plastic pallet box ensures a long service life – in most cases, up to 10 years.

Another important criterion for the boxes was ease of handling. The strong and simple design of the GoBox 1311 makes these pallet boxes ideal for bulk handling and storage. A stacking rim and anti-slip pads allows the boxes to be easily piled up to seven high, without compromising safety.

The Highland Council chose our standard GoBox 1311; however, this model can be supplied with additional features including corporate personalisation with a choice of name, logo or numbering and an extended colour range available upon request for orders in excess of 500 units.

When Goplasticpallets.com caught up with Colin Alston, Harbour Master, Isle of Skye for the Highland Council, he commented: “Our storage boxes have changed the face of the harbour. We can now store away our fishing nets and equipment tidily and out of harm’s way with the assurance they are kept secure and dry.”

Goplasticpallets.com was established in 2001 and is a division of All Pallets Ltd. Since its inception, Goplasticpallets.com has fast become the UK’s leading independent supplier of plastic pallets.

The company now stocks in excess of 75 core product ranges and model variations, offering a wide choice of pallet features and colour options. Coordinated from its base in Eastbourne, East Sussex, Goplasticpallets.com fulfils 99% of all orders immediately from stock and delivers over 95% of orders next day throughout the UK. It is the sole UK distributor of IPS pallets, manufactured in Belgium, and has close links with a number of other manufacturers across Europe and Asia, ensuring a comprehensive and competitive product range.

  1. I really like your pallet box, it seems to be durable and I would expect a long life of the products. I just wonder how enviromentally friendly the material is.
