What’s the most exciting thing about your job?

Showing our customers how we can help them save costs within their supply chain and building a trusted partnership.

Who inspired you most in your career?

My Dad, who always worked hard and enjoyed his work.

If you were an item in a warehouse, what would you be?

The roof. You might not think it, but you’d miss me if I wasn’t there!

What brought you into this industry?

I should say the first ambulance out of the asylum, but seriously I was introduced by a recruitment consultant into GPG plastics (part of the LinPac group then) nearly 22 years ago. This is probably the best industry for me to work in, mainly because things are always changing which keeps it interesting.

If you had to do it all over again, what would you do different?

I wouldn’t change a thing because if I did I wouldn’t be where I am today.

What’s your favourite pastime?

Spending time with my family and friends and riding my motorcycles.

What’s the most embarrassing thing that’s ever happened to you?

That is for close friends only to know.

Do you have any hidden talents?

If I tell you they will no longer be hidden, but, if pushed, I will confess that I am not a bad cook.

Who would be your favourite party guest?

Robert Plant or Angelina Jolie each, I must add, for completely different reasons!

What is the greatest luxury in your life?

My motorcycles and my friends and family.

If you won the Lottery, what would you do?

Buy a box at Twickenham and an Indian Chief motorcycle.

Who or what makes you laugh?

Peter Kay, Al Murray, Billy Connolly.

Do you have any secret ambitions?

To ride route 66 on my bike.

What’s your favourite holiday destination?

East beach at West Wittering with my family.

What’s your favourite music album?

Physical Graffiti – Led Zeppelin. Pure genius, first heard when I was 15 years old and still listening to it today.

What are your three favourite movies?

Pulp Fiction, Platoon and The Good, the Bad and the Ugly.

What are your favourite books?

The Conqueror Series about Genghis Khan by Conn Iggulden ‘Wolf of the Plains’, ‘Lord of the Bow’ and ‘Bones of the Hills’. Three books that are truly un-put down able.

Who or what do you detest the most?

Rudeness and arrogance.

What would be your advice to someone thinking about coming into the industry (apart from “don’t do it”)?

Listen and learn from the people around you.
