In 2006 CSi launched the i-Pal system, a standardised robot cell consisting of a spherical robot mounted on a skid, together with pallet conveyors and a pickpoint. This extremely compact palletiser, offered on a lease contract, has proven to be very popular with our customers who appreciate the flexible financing possibilities it provides and its ease of installation. To date, 50 i-Pals are currently on lease around Europe providing cost benefits to some of Europe’s leading food and drink manufacturers.
The i-Pal has evolved and is now available for applications where cleaning, in relation to food hygiene legislation, is required. It can also be delivered where major components are manufactured in stainless steel and can be operated in wet environments. With its open construction the Easy Clean i-Pal can be accessed by operators for general maintenance and cleaning routines.
When installed close to the end of the production line, the i-Pal, with its simple control system, can be operated by the existing production team members. Simple user friendly graphic interfaces provide operators with all the information they require to operate the palletiser and react efficiently to any warnings or actions generated by the i-Pal’s control system. If CSi’s “patternmaker” software is included, new layer patterns can be designed and configured, as new products come on line or existing product packaging is re-designed.
