The Depot Manager at DPD in Frankfurt believes Caljan Rite-Hite to be synonymous with quality “If our budget didn’t allow for top-quality Caljan equipment, we would rather refurbish than buy from other sources”. Caljan Rite-Hite, who have worked successfully with DPD since 1994, have designed a new roller loader to handle the specific conditions prevailing in the Frankfurt depot.
DPD, Germany, have installed 76 Caljan RollerTrack telescopic conveyors to handle parcel loading in their new hall at their facilities in Frankfurt. The hall was built late 2008 to cope with a larger parcel capacity and increase effectivity. The roller loaders have been developed specifically to handle the needs of the Frankfurt depot. High side guards ensure that parcels remain on the conveyor despite the sharp descent. Hydraulic cylinders at the tail of the conveyor enable it to be lifted or lowered to suit the loading height of the incoming vehicle.
In addition to the roller loaders, Caljan Rite-Hite have also supplied 19 pre-sorting modules. Each one is able to sort approx. 1,200 parcels hourly, regardless of shape – routing them to one of three destinations as appropriate. This space saving unit is ergonomic to work with, reducing the risk of repetetive strains and back injuries.
