Niton has boosted first-time delivery success of sensitive items that must be signed for by the named recipient and cannot be left with colleagues or neighbours. The company ships about 30,000 parcels each year through the UK’s largest delivery network via its local depot APC Eezehaul in Crawley, Sussex.
Niton provides an extensive range of high quality law enforcement and security equipment and workwear to UK Police Forces and security companies. “APC Overnight’s next day delivery services have given us an edge in customer service. To eliminate unnecessary paperwork and phone calls, Niton uses the APC Overnight’s NetDespatch web-based service. This not only automates the booking of shipments, it tracks the parcels throughout the network to the point of delivery to the customer. This labour and time saving system speeds order processing in the warehouse and also allows the customer services team to answer tracking queries from clients.
“NetDespatch makes it easy for us to book collections and gives us traceability of the parcels. The depot also provides a high-visibility label that tells the courier that the parcel must be signed for by the customer only. In addition, the depot will telephone us if the customer is unavailable to collect a parcel. We then can contact them to arrange an alternative time of delivery,” he continues.
