18 months ago Cyklop’s range of semi automatic wrappers increased with the introduction of the GL300, offering up to nine wrapping programs and four hundred percent pre-stretch. The company have now taken this machine a step further by introducing a film cutting and sealing unit, designed with fork truck operators in mind.
The last thing a fork truck driver wants to do is to leave his vehicle to attach stretch film to the pallet and start the wrapping cycle, then once completed the film must be cut and the process starts again. The new GL300 can be started by remote control from the truck and when the wrap has been completed the film is automatically cut and the trailing end attached to the load. This is what you would expect with a more expensive fully automated system using conveyor.
David Hearn Managing Director of Cyklop UK Ltd said that this exciting new concept will speed up the wrapping process for companies where wrapping speeds and economy of film used per load is of prime consideration when choosing new equipment. All the operator has to concern themselves with, is placing and removing the loads from the turntable and changing the reel of stretch film.
