ny_bil_bring.jpgLeading Nordic company will use Transport Management in expanding logistics operations. RedPrairie Corporation, a world leading consumer driven optimisation company, announced today that Norway Post has selected RedPrairie´s E2eTM Transport Management System (TMS) as its strategic solution of choice for its Transport Distribution Load Planning project (TDLP) for its fast growing logistics operations.

The Norway Post Group is one of the largest companies in the Nordic region comprising Postal Services, Logistics, Distribution Network and IT (Ergo Group). The RedPrairie TMS solution for the TDLP project will be the strategic TMS solution for the businesses within the Norway Post Logistics Group which include Bring Frigoscandia, Bring Logistics and Bring Express. There are plans to potentially extend the RedPrairie solution to Distribution Net – the logistics arm of the Postal business.

The RedPrairie TMS will replace various custom legacy applications, to provide Norway Post with an efficient centralised transport planning and management solution with much improved carrier management. The resulting enhanced customer service and scalability of the new TMS solution will support the strategic ambitions and growth of the business.

“We recognise that RedPrairie’s solution is very strong, providing continuous as well as batch oriented automatic optimisation and Norway Post is confident that the final solution will support us in becoming ‘the world’s most future-oriented Post and Logistics Company,'” says Johan Ronæs, CIO Norway Post Logistics.

RedPrairie TMS solutions automate the transportation tasks and bring better visibility to the entire set of order fulfilment activities in play at any moment. They connect multiple parties and business processes throughout the broader supply chain, while continuously optimizing all transport variables, bringing organisational efficiencies, and thus, cost reductions.

The solution will be implemented by RedPrairie, partnering with Ergo Group (Norway Post’s IT division) who will provide valuable insight into Norway Post’s organisation and business practises. This provides Norway Post with a TMS solution partner with valuable implementation experience, first hand knowledge of the software, and knowledge of transportation and logistics best practice.

Ronæs continues, “Being a highly flexible and responsive organisation, with a strong commitment to serving the transportation industry, Norway Post is confident that RedPrairie will be a strong and viable partner for Norway Post.”

Martin Hiscox, Vice Chairman of the Board, Managing Director and President International RedPrairie Corporation, comments, “Third Party Logistics is one of the most important industries for us at RedPrairie and in a world of increasing transportation costs and rising environmental concerns, we are very pleased to have the opportunity to assist Norway Post in achieving its strategic ambitions whilst at the same time increasing efficiency levels and helping to address the environmental challenges the world is facing.”
