Transport company Veolia Transport Midlands has become the latest to install Stertil Koni’s mobile column lifts to increase efficiency in the handling of large vehicles. The firm has installed Stertil’s ST1060C mobile column lifts to assist with inspection and maintenance of its bus and coach fleet.
Veolia Transport runs bus and coach services in Wales, Midlands and North East of England, covering areas such as Cardiff, Swansea, Birmingham, Lincoln, Nottingham, York, Durham and Hull. With over 300 vehicles in East Midlands and the North, the company needs to be able to carry out maintenance and repair work quickly and efficiently. Six Stertil lifts have been installed to help increase the throughput of vehicles through eight of the depots.
Regular vehicle inspection and maintenance is, of course, essential in any transport operation. Stertil Koni’s mobile lifting columns are among the fastest lifting columns in the world, key to improving productivity and efficiency in busy servicing depots. Stertil’s lifts have fewer parts to maintain than other makes of lift (particularly susceptible parts such as spindles and nuts are absent altogether) and Stertil’s supply times are equally impressive. Lifting columns are available with capacities of 6,000kg, 7,250kg, 8,200kg, 10,000kg and 17,500kg per column. However, by linking and operating columns together, lifting capacity can be expanded almost indefinitely. The result is a vehicle lift with an exceptionally long service life, long maintenance intervals and very short ascent/descent times.
