adam.jpgChaintec, the country’s leading supplier of leaf chain to the forklift truck replacement market, has expanded its business in the UK and launched a new regional operation in Southampton. The Southampton office increases the number of Chaintec UK regional offices to six and strengthens the company’s coverage around the UK. The expansion enables the company to provide an improved level of service to its growing dockside customers in the South Coast region.

The Southampton office will be based at established forklift parts supplier SL Components (Southampton) Ltd (www.forktruckchains.co.uk) who will stock the full range of Chaintec chains and will be able to custom cut lengths to suit individual customer requirements. Adam George will be the face of Chaintec Southampton. Adam has worked within the forklift truck industry for more than three years and is well known to FLT managers along the South Coast area.Chaintec’s UK network provides customers with access to local experts who can ensure that the right chain is delivered first time.

The network also delivers and fits chains on the customer site, a service that is increasing in popularity. Chaintec’s value-added services take the burden away from the service manager and improve the accuracy and consistency of chain supply, so reducing down-time for each unit.Chaintec has witnessed a significant increase in demand for value-added services as David Hassan, MD at Chaintec explains, “The UK marketplace is recognising the benefit of taking our services alongside our chain products. Our supply and fitting services have been noticeably busier in 2008 than in 2007, as our hard-pressed customers take advantage of the cost savings and down-time reductions that using our services brings to their maintenance budgets.”Chaintec has over 15 years experience servicing the forklift replacement market, and their product range includes the acclaimed Zi-Co coated chain which extends the life of chains operating in hostile environments.

The company has a reputation for expertise and service and their industry-leading database of trucks, model numbers and OEM part numbers enables the customer services team to identify the correct chain for any unit.David Hassan continues, “Contrary to the current economic climate, Chaintec 2008 sales are up on the same time last year. This is due to the combination of our competitive pricing and our ability to add value. We have also been working on extending our channels to market and increasing our services to customers. As a result we have expanded our operations both here in the UK and overseas to meet the increase in demand and have plans to further extend our operations in 2009.”
