A specialist in supplying replacement parts for Ferrari and other high-performance Italian cars has installed brand new additional shelving to house an increase in the storage of automotive parts courtesy of SSI Schaefer. Superformance required the extra shelving for its small and medium sized parts when the decision was made to move to new premises in Hertfordshire. The move to the new site represented a significant investment by Superformance and therefore wanted a product that reflected the high quality of its new facility. Aware of SSI Schaefer’s experience and reputation in materials handling solutions, particularly in supplying shelving systems to the automotive sector, in came Schaefer’s Senior Account Manager, Graham Plester.
Superformance had considered purchasing second-hand equipment to meet their requirement but after a number of detailed consultation sessions with Graham and realising the minimal cost difference between buying old and new, the decision was taken to go forward with all new equipment.
Following a detailed on site survey of the existing parts system, a design for new Regal 3000 Shelving was completed. The design of the shelving increased available storage capacity for Superformance by 54% in square meters and by 99% in cubic volume, allowing for both the storage of current stock and future growth of the business.
