multipart.jpgMultipart’s successful implementation of Anglian Water Services (AWS) Meter Replacement programme has now resulted in the company being awarded a further contract, initially to install 10,000 new water meters in the Ipswich area. Anglian Water aims to provide customers with the option to switch to a bill based on a meter, and is targeted in an area of known water stress. This is an additional contract with AWS and further expands the successful relationship developed with the civil engineering partner, Groupbridge, whose staff will be installing the meters and undertaking survey activity on Multipart’s behalf.

Paul Glass, Project Manager, AWS said: “We at Anglian Water are pleased with the innovation that Multipart has provided on the Meter Exchange Project. Multipart’s position outside the mainstream water industry has brought to bear fresh logistical and organisational expertise. Multipart’s part in this project will undoubtedly influence how we procure and carry out meter exchanges in the future. Proactive wholesale meter replacement has become a day to day activity for Anglian Water, and will increasingly be so for other water companies.”

AWS was the first customer to deploy Multipart’s Msys.MRM. Msys.MRM is a technology-led solution providing job and mobile workforce management, resource optimisation, real time data capture and customer service support combined with logistics expertise. Using this leading edge technology Multipart controls the overall process including real time scheduling and full status tracking through use of hand held terminals.

Assets and materials are managed at serial number level and deployed to a field workforce. AWS benefits from reduced unit costs, fast, accurate data capture and an improved customer service experience.

Martin Warington, Head of Business Development said: “For every company within the utilities sector, regulatory and commercial pressures create a constant need to reduce costs and optimise efficiency, while improving service quality. We believe our Msys.MRM helps address these needs particularly for multiple, repeat jobs such as meter installation and replacement programmes.”

“Using Msys.MRM means the engineers have fewer failed visits and time wasted through an improved customer appointment system. Since deploying Msys.MRM, AWS has seen a 20% improvement in productivity.”

Msys.MRM is part of Msys. Multipart’s in-house developed, integrated systems platform. In 2006 Multipart won the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT UK) Award for Excellence in the Information Category. This year the company is a finalist in the Motor Transport Awards, Best use of Technology category.
