Crawford UK Limited recently sponsored a five day charity cycle from Barcelona to Cannes. The idea for the event originated from a group of keen cyclists from London from the real estate sector to raise money for charity and to offer companies to sponsor the event and receive corporate exposure linking this all with the Global Real Estate show in Cannes. The event raises monies for four charities: LandAid, Architects for Aid, Arquitectos sin Fronteras and Fundación Vicente Ferrer. Crawford, an international provider of door and logistics solutions were asked to participate in sponsoring the event by Helioslough’s, Chief Operating Officer, Keith Rodwell who was participating in the event. Crawford and Helioslough have been working together on a number of prestigious projects over the years with Crawford being used as their docking systems specialist.
Keith has previously undertaken charity cycles before but never with this type of intensity and endurance. The team were cycling seven hours per day and covered over 200 km every day for five consecutive days. Allan Stockdale, National Account Manager at Crawford UK comments on the cycle ride. “Crawford were delighted to sponsor this event and we applaud the participants for their tremendous effort as the journey was quite hilly and required great stamina. Despite the distance and topography involved, Keith’s team of 14 cyclists completed the challenge without a single puncture or need for mechanical assistance from the support team travelling behind on the sponsored coach. The overall amount the team raised was around £175,000 with the total amount still to be calculated when all the monies have been collected.”
