A new a conveyor system has speeded up storage processes at Barber of Sheffield, suppliers of steel products ranging from tattoo & piercing equipment to veterinary needles. Installed by Midlands-based Rusmail, the mezzanine floor conveyor replaces a previous system which relied on operatives to load the mezzanine floor by using the stairway.
Warehouse Manager, Tom Royston explains: “The business was expanding and it was becoming increasingly time consuming to load in this way, not to mention a health and safety issue handling the larger, heavier boxes of product up a flight of stairs.
“The Rusmail solution makes everything quicker and safer, allowing us to operate at capacity. Also thanks to the installation team communicating with us at every stage, it made for a smooth transition to becoming automated in this area.”
