Established for over 40 years, Lakeland Limited is one of the leading names in UK kitchenware and homeware products. Founded by Alan Rayner, Lakeland is a family run business which operates from their Kendal Distribution centre supplying products for mail order and to their growing number of retail outlets nationwide. Now run by sons, Sam, Martin and Julian Rayner, Lakeland continues to grow, attributing its success to following the same simple philosophy as used by their father, “always look after the customer and the business will look after itself”.
As demand for their mail order services increased, Lakeland made the decision to build onto their existing Kendal site to deliver a state of the art 80,000 sq ft Direct Despatch centre. In conjunction with the new state of the art facilities, Lakeland utilised the Monaco 7100 Truck Mounted and Atlanta 8100 Hand Held terminal by Belgravium which successfully helped increase the pick, pack and despatch rate up to over 10,000 orders a day. The fit for purpose Monaco and Atlanta were ideal for Lakelands warehouse operation and with their excellent functionality and ergonomics provided Lakeland with real-time visibility of their facilities, improving accuracy, productivity and contributing significantly to their high customer service standards.
Utilising the same philosophies, Belgravium have built a strong and successful business relationship with Lakeland which has seen them fulfilling their mobile computing requirements for nearly 5 years. With the existing equipment still in operation at Lakelands Kendal Distribution facility, the continuing growth in business has recently resulted in a recent additional order for a further quantity of Monaco terminals. In addition, Belgraviums support and maintenance package continues to provide Lakeland with an unrivalled customer service which will continue to see their relationship strengthen and grow into the future.
