Union Industries, the market leading designer and manufacturer of the Matadoor Range of Hi-Speed Doors, is continuing to support a programme of environmental temperature control at SCATS Countrystores (SCATS) distribution warehouse in Hampshire. SCATS, which is part of the UK’s largest rural retailer Mole Valley Farmers, has installed one of Union Industries robust Ramdoors to their distribution depot to reduce heat loss and prevent vermin getting into the warehouse.
A significant reduction in heat loss has been noticeable since the fast acting Ramdoor, opening at 1.0 metre per second and closing automatically, was installed to the large 5.6mwide x 4.5m high Despatch Door opening replacing a slow operating Roller Shutter door.
The Ramdoor not only profits from Union’s famous bottom beam ‘Crash-out’ feature, but also from heavy duty steel columns with bolt-on side-guides, hard wearing anti-static and fire retardant 2-ply ‘Ramhide’ door blade fabric, 12 Health & Safety features as standard along with no fewer than 5 Food & Hygiene features, which are all very important in this type of working environment.
