The UK’s leading web-based telematics and mobile solutions company, Masternaut Three X, has acquired FibreCity, the leading-edge ISP based in Aberford, Leeds, in a deal worth GBP 6 million. Established by Brannan Tempest and Craig Tempest, FibreCity has been a front-runner in the Internet service provision and applications market since the company was founded in 1987. The acquisition of FibreCity enables Masternaut Three X to provide more extended hosted back-office solutions that are fully integrated with its telematics and mobile software.
“This is a significant development for Masternaut Three X. It allows us to provide comprehensive service and solutions packages to our customers that include secure fully-managed hosting in our own state-of-the-art datacentres,” said Martin Port, MD, Masternaut Three X. In addition, the deal has enabled Masternaut Three X to expand its premises to over 25,000 sq ft and its team of highly skilled team to 150.
Commenting on FibreCity’s capabilities and skills sets, Martin Port said: “FibreCity has an interesting range of Blue Chip customer such as Aga Rayburn, BAE Systems, Fired Earth and NASA. The ISP has also been providing us with first-class secure hosting for Masternaut Three X applications. We have always been impressed by Brannan and Craig’s attitude to business and customer service. This acquisition is the right thing for us at a time when we are enjoying phenomenal success and growth.
