Multi-monitor-support.jpgHaulTech have introduced a new feature to their Traffic Management System which will enable users to monitor and ultimately reduce their Company’s Carbon Footprint. The Carbon calculator takes into consideration a delivery vehicle’s route mileage and load allocation then generates a calculation which provides users with an array of information including the amount of CO2 the vehicle will generate during the delivery process.

“We want our users to be more aware of the amount of CO2 their vehicles are generating, which will in turn help them optimise the efficiency of their fleet, and ultimately reduce the Company’s Carbon Footprint” commented Clare Armstrong, HaulTech’s Sales Director.

Integrated seamlessly into HaulTech’s existing Traffic Management System the calculator is available for both users and their customers to view the potential environmental impact of their deliveries. This means that at the booking level user’s customers will be able to view the CO2 emissions of their consignment online and at the planning level users will be able to view the CO2 emissions along with performance and financial data of the entire load. HaulTech believe that by providing users and their customers with carbon emission data both parties will work in unison to responsibly optimise the efficiency of their deliveries.

HaulTech have recently won an award for their Traffic System picking up the British Telecom sponsored, Communications Technology in Business Award for their Traffic Management Software system which utilises a wide variety of communication channels including the internet, GPRS, 3G & SMS to create a single reference data source for haulage companies, their drivers and their customers.

“We not only want to optimise the efficiency of our customer’s operations through the use of a fully integrated Traffic Management System” Commented Clare Armstrong on the reason for implementing the Carbon Calculator “We also want to provide them with a competitive advantage that enables them to market their services from a financial and environmental position”.
