Steve Porter Transport Group (SPTG) has signed a new 5-year deal with cross Solent ferry company Red Funnel, to remain the ferry operator’s Preferred Freight Partner.

The new agreement builds on the existing commercial partnership, with Steve Porter having acquired Red Funnel’s distribution division in 2011.

The deal ensures that SPTG remain the Isle of Wight’s largest independent freight carrier, offering a bespoke cross-Solent drop-trailer operation from Southampton to East Cowes. With its Freight Partner status SPTG will ensure that its customers are given priority in terms of its droptrailer service and general freight movements and that it retains it commercial competitive advantage.
