An intrepid trio of girls from Stertil Dock Products recently completed a 5K Colour Rush to raise money for SafeLives – a leading UK-based charity that aims to help victims of domestic abuse.

If the 5K Colour Rush, which took place at Abington Park in Northampton, wasn’t demanding enough, the participating runners were also pelted with multicoloured powdered paint by enthusiastic ‘supporters’ around the course.

The three girls are all employed in the Projects Department of loading bay equipment specialist Stertil Dock Products which has its UK headquarters at Brackmills. “It was a great day,” says Verity Lee, who was joined by workmates Nikki Hanwell and Donna Forrester. “We had loads of fun, the weather was glorious and the powdered paint made sure that it was a truly colourful day – even though it took a lot of shifting in the shower afterwards. But, best of all, we were very well supported by generous sponsors and we’re well on our way to reaching our target of £1000.”

The girls would be delighted to receive any contributions via the JustGiving website at www.justgiving.com/5kcolourrush
