Giorgio Lercara from Culina Hoddesdon won both the Microlise ‘Driver of the Year’’ and the Microlise ‘Short Distance Driver of the Year’ Award, at the prestigious 2016 Microlise Driver of the Year Awards.
The main award was presented to Giorgio by Princess Anne – The Princess Royal at the Microlise Transport Conference 2016, held at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry on 18 May in front of over 1,000 transport industry leaders.
Giorgio was previously a van driver for Culina’s Corney & Barrow operation out of Hoddesdon.
Giorgio has also driven rigid vehicles before progressing to driving articulated vehicles which he has been doing for just over a year now.

Indeed this year three Culina Group drivers were shortlisted into the final 22 drivers for the Microlise ‘Driver of the Year’ award. This was from a total of 110,000 drivers from across the UK transport industry whose performance was measured by Microlise.”
