Carl Lomas IOC chair, acting as secretary to the group, ‘Big thank you all round, particularly Pearson Edexcell for their drive on the assessment plan, the funding allocation for each apprentice will fall in band two, BIS report a total possible government contribution including all incentives set at £4,900 per candidate. BIS feedback detailed a requirement to attain licence, apprentices will fall into different categories from walking post to heavy van network, the apprentices will be graded at the end of their qualification and judged on an industry standard platform that will be comparable across nationals, networks and regional operations. This will provide a legacy to our sector in the foundation of our next generation workforce.’
