Robert Wood is DAIFUKU’s new Business Development Manager for the UK and Ireland. Since October 2014, he is responsible for sales and strategic market orientation of the Japanese material handling experts for the sales regions. His goal is to expand DAIFUKU’s project business and strengthen its position in the market.
Robert Wood has almost 20 years experience in logistics. Finally, the qualified mechanical engineer, was Sales Manager at Swisslog UK after fulfilling a number of roles within the company including Project Manager and Head of Account Management for Swisslog’s Europe II organisation. He has helped numerous major projects. In his new role, he wants to expand DAIFUKU´s project business and significantly strengthen the company’s position as a leading innovator in the UK and Irish markets. Great potential for automated logistics systems he sees in e-commerce as well as in the manufacturing industry. “Storage space is becoming increasingly scarce. As a result, an ever higher level of automation is necessary”, says Wood. “DAIFUKU has both the necessary know-how as well as a comprehensive range of products to offer to its customers in retail, manufacturing, automotive and distribution for the supply of highly efficient automation solutions. I am looking forward to bringing my experience here.”
