In April 2012 Espex Batteries Limited-UK was fully acquired by Exide Industries Ltd – India, one of the largest producers of Lead-acid batteries worldwide with 7 factories and a major R&D set-up.
Since 2003 Espex has been assembling in the United Kingdom and distributing Motive Power batteries sourced from its majority partner Exide – India.
Espex, as the wholly owned subsidiary of Exide – India, will market products under the well-established CEIL brand. CEIL traction batteries are available in 6 continents and used as OE fitment by many reputed Lift Truck manufacturers.
The financial and technical strengths of Exide – India will be reflected in Espex’s operation, be it stocks, quality, trained workforce or superior aftersales service support.
Espex maintains an average stock over 25,000 cells and batteries at the factory & warehousing site in Cardiff. The full range of BS and DIN Traction cells are available from Espex.
CEIL Chargers for Traction batteries were added to the product portfolio and launched at the IMHX 2013 show.
