Roelandt NV bakeries and pcdata have a long history, with the Distrib Put to Light system installed at several of their production/distribution locations in Belgium. In order to optimise their shipments of product between the sites, pcdata will be implementing the Distrib Dock Manager at two of their main production facilities.
With the Distrib Dock Manager solution, Roelandt ensures improved accuracy in the deliveries and real-time visibility about products produced, shipped (in transit) and received. All product intented for interbakery shipments is automatically registered once it is produced and received in the warehouse; furthermore, by deploying automatic barcode scanners at the main loading doors used for interbakery shipments all product loaded is automatically registered and validated against the delivery location.
Once a shipment is in transit, information about product deliveries is sent to the receiving site, where the Distrib Put to Light application which is used to pick order for the local distribution routes is updated with ETA and volume information.
Once the delivery has arrived at the receiving site, a positive validation of items unloaded can be applied.
