TGW Northern Europe officially opened its new headquarters in Leicestershire this month, marking a milestone in the company’s development.

Falcon-Court_EIn 2013, TGW brought its operations in the Benelux and Scandinavia together with the UK to form TGW Northern Europe. The UK was established in 2007 with just three employees, today TGW Northern Europe employs 130 people and generated a sales turnover in excess of £70m in 2012/2013, making it TGW’s second largest market.

Having outgrown its original UK offices in Market Harborough, Georg Kirchmayr, President of the TGW Group made the decision to invest in the development of a purpose-designed 12,000 sq ft building, known as Falcon Court, within sight of the former office building at The Point.

The modern two-storey building has been exclusively designed by architects to accommodate the needs of TGW’s employees including management, engineers and sales and marketing staff. Designed with an emphasis on sustainability, the building provides a modern and comfortable working environment and includes break out spaces, quiet working zones, a roof garden and a staff gymnasium.

In addition, a TGW Mustang Evolution mini-load automated storage and retrieval machine has been installed in the entrance lobby, where it will serve as a document repository.

Going forward there are plans to establish a TGW Academy to deliver best in class learning and development to the company’s employees.

There is also scope for further expansion at the site in the future to support the company’s continued growth.

“This move represents an exciting new chapter for TGW.” said Phil Steeds, sales director at TGW Northern Europe. “The building embodies our growth, our success and our ambitions to become a leading local and international provider of automated storage and retrieval & order fulfilment solutions.

“It is a milestone in the history of TGW and I am sure that there will be many more milestones realised at Falcon Court in the future.”

Georg Kirchmayr, President of TGW Logistics Group GmbH, officially opened the company’s new UK offices on 12th March.
