Steve Knights has joined KNAPP UK Ltd, the leading automated solutions supplier, as Business Development Manager for Integrated Projects. Based at the company’s offices in Long Crendon, Buckinghamshire, Steve will be responsible for acquiring and delivering KNAPP’s high level integrated projects business in the UK.
Currently President of the Automated Materials Handling Systems Association (AMHSA), Steve Knights has a wealth of experience in automated logistics. Trained as a mechanical engineer, Steve has spent most of his working life in the automated handling sector. Most recently, he was Business Manager for Dematic Ltd and also worked for the company under its previous owners, Mannesmann and then Siemens.

The Austrian-owned KNAPP group has enjoyed considerable success in recent years, achieving sales revenue of over EUR 196 million in the financial year 2007/08 and doubling its turnover over the last five years. KNAPP acquired the Swedish logistics firm Moving AB last June and has recently opened new branches in emerging markets, including China. Last year the company took an impressive number of orders in the UK from customers including Phoenix Healthcare, Sangers, United Drug, British Gas, Avon Cosmetics, Ocado, Lloyds Pharmacy and CooperVision.
