nextStaff at Next Control Systems are celebrating the company’s success in winning the coveted Energy Management award for the best new installation of the last twelve months.

The Farnborough, Hants, based company took the award against stiff competition with a £55,000 installation on a cool store which remained fully operational whilst work was going on.

The owners of the store have since reported that the installation saved £60,000 in the first year, an achievement described as “astonishing” by the award organisers.

Since then the customer has let a £221,000 contract to Next for three further stores and expects a saving of £110,000 a year.

“We monitor our systems very closely and police them on a daily basis, ensuring agreed set points don’t get moved by contractors and others,” said Next managing director, Tim Bartholomew.

“If a set point moves we issue an alarm, correct it and lock it in place.  That way we can guarantee the savings will continue,” he added.
