garn-transport-imageFurther indication of Palletline’s growing dominance in the pallet network sector has been confirmed this year as the company continues to attract new, high quality Member Companies seeking to benefit from Palletline’s advanced technological offering, service levels and unique share ownership structure.

Selection of new Member Companies is an exacting process for Palletline. The company welcomes approaches from established, independent distribution companies, identifying organisations in given geographical locations with proven financial stability and operating structures which complement the existing Palletline system.

The past three months have seen Palletline add three new names to its already extensive Member Company list, with a fourth – Oldham-based J A Leach Ltd – scheduled to join imminently.

Kings Transport

Hertfordshire-based Kings Transport joined in December, operating from a strategically located site with easy access to Stansted airport and main motorway links such as the M11, M25 and M1.

Establishing a close working relationship between the two companies has satisfied the commercial needs of both Steve King and Keith Borrett, Directors of Kings Transport.  Keith explains the rationale behind his company’s decision to join the Palletline System. “Changes in the market prompted us to research the potential of joining a pallet network, meeting increasing demand from our customers for quality palletised distribution,” he stated.

“Our focus has always been to deliver exceptional standards of service and quality, and we identified Palletline as the best in the market for product delivery, security and integrity. In addition, Palletline offers us significant opportunities for growth and further development of our core product offering through the introduction of new and innovative services. We’re actually seeing our business grow even in these challenging times!”

DB Schenker UK Land Division

In January, it was announced that the UK Land Division of DB Schenker – one of the leading international providers of integrated logistics – has joined the Palletline system, covering a region including the eastern side of Greater London.

Garn Transport Ltd

In February, Spalding-based Garn Transport Ltd was selected to join the expanding line-up, covering around The Wash including Peterborough, Wisbech and Kings Lynn.

Investment in premises, a modern fleet, efficient warehousing and the latest IT systems plays a key role in the company’s continued development, with long- established trading relationships with existing customers testifying to the success of Garn Transport’s approach.

Garn Transport has been part of a pallet network for some years, and recognises the significant commercial contribution that access to a network has made, both to the development of the business and to the range of services offered to customers.

“However, the geographical area available to us through Palletline matches our business focus more closely, offering enhanced opportunities for business development, and is located closer to our operating base, enabling us to improve efficiencies and reduce vehicle miles,” stated General Manager David Hipkin.

Palletline expects to make further system growth announcements in the early part of this year. “Increased capacity at our new hub, combined with our efficient operating model and the benefits of new technology mean we are in a position to grow the business in line with the anticipations of existing and future Member Companies,” commented Managing Director Kevin Buchanan.
