Evolution Power Tools, one of the world’s fastest growing power tool brands with operations in the UK, France and the USA and a pioneer in the development of cutting technology for the steel and fabrication industries is installing a state-of-the-art warehouse management system to “Automate the company’s inventory management and optimise its customer service” Evolution finance director Nicola Cook said today.

The DeltaWMS system is being integrated with Evolution’s existing Sage Line 50 sales order processing software; and with new RF (radio frequency) terminals installed on the company’s forklift truck fleet to automate picking and speed dispatch of Evolution’s Professional Steel Line; building industry multipurpose steel-,aluminium- and wood-cutting machines; and home (DIY) machines, from its 36,000 square foot warehouse. Evolution home products include the ‘EVO180 Xtreme’, the ‘EVO380 Raptor’, and the ‘RAGE’ and ‘FURY’ series. All products are developed by the company, manufactured externally and shipped into Evolution’s Distribution Centre in the UK, for worldwide distribution.

“Having real time, 24/7 knowledge of our warehouse inventory plus the ability to speed the distribution of Evolution cutting tools to our global export, independent and big-chain retail customers such as B&Q will support our plans for rapid, worldwide expansion” Nicola Cook adds. The company is targeting 20% per annum growth.

DeltaWMS is the UK’s fastest growing supplier of interactive and specialist warehouse management systems for Distribution as well as Third Party Logistics, Manufacturing and Bonded warehouse users – integrating its WMS technology with other core supply chain applications including Sage, SAP, Navision and others using Microsoft industry-standard DTS technology.
DeltaWMS is a just-in-time supply chain technology specialist. The company claims an industry first for the graphical map that is used in all DeltaWMS systems to manage warehouse inventory interactively and in real-time – optimising productivity and delivering measurable supply chain improvements, say Delta.

DeltaWMS systems provide full stock traceability – from point of receipt to point of dispatch – for every item that moves through the warehouse; while the DeltaWMS web browser module allows user (and third party warehousing customer) to directly manage stock and orders from anywhere in the world, 24/7 and in real-time, improving customer service and reducing administration.
