Dexory is a robotics and data intelligence technology company that provides the logistics industry with real-time warehouse insights.

Dexory’s solution, the DexoryView platform unlocks insights across all levels of warehouse operations by utilising real-time data collected via autonomous robots.

The company works with major industry leaders such as Menzies Aviation, Maersk, Denso, and others to optimise their warehouse operations.

Oana Jinga, Dexory’s CCO and Co-founder, speaks to Warehouse & Logistics News.

What are your best-known products/solutions/services?

Dexory’s latest solution is DexoryView. It was launched in January 2023 and is a bleeding-edge combination of hardware and software. It consists of autonomous robots that navigate warehouses to capture high definition 3D scans with multiple high quality cameras and sensors mounted on a 12m extendable tower. The data capture is fed straight into the DexoryView platform to create accurate, real-time digital models of the warehouse racks and the items on them. The platform, powered by AI, generates insights into the journey of goods across the warehouse.

The solution helps logistics partners save time and money, while boosting warehouse productivity, and unlocking new revenue.

Which industry sectors are your customers in and which ones are growing fastest?

We work with industries that have logistics as the heart of their business. These include logistics & supply chain, as well as manufacturing logistics, but we also partner with cargo handling, retail & e-commerce and food & beverage.

E-commerce has definitely experienced unprecedented growth over the last few years. This change has amplified the industry’s need for efficient warehousing, inventory management and real- time data.

What are the major trends and developments affecting your category and your customers, and how are you responding?

The logistics industry has been pressured with growing demands and higher expectations to deliver on time, every time.

Many of our customers are naturally turning to automation and digitisation. There’s a focus on visibility & real-time data to become more resilient, achieve improved efficiency and productivity, and meet customer’s needs.

Dexory is in a great position to empower customers who understand that data has great power to lead decisions, optimise processes and improve supply chain resilience.

Can you tell us about any recent customer contracts and how you helped the customer meet their challenges?

Maersk partnered with us for DexoryView’s ability to help address the issues they were facing, such as inventory management and rack occupancy. Dexory’s robots and data visualisation platform work together to help Maersk measure, track and locate goods across every logistics step, from inbound to storage to outbound.

Maerk understands there are many ways in which processes can be optimised, especially as global demand and the complexity of supply chains increases. Maersk uses our technology, removing the need for repetitive tasks and enabling staff to focus on key operations, and using space wisely and more profitably, whilst attracting and retaining employees is central. Ultimately, DexoryView allows the expansion of their capabilities and improvement in customer outcomes.

Are you taking part in any major trade shows? Can you tell us what you’ll be exhibiting there?

We will be exhibiting at Multimodal on stand 7022, in the UKWA pavilion, and the team will be demonstrating the DexoryView platform. We are also excited to be demonstrating the solution including the Dexory robot on the Maersk’s stand no2040/2041 at the same event.

What are your plans to grow the business this year?

As a result of launching DexoryView, we saw huge traction and demand from the logistics and supply chain market. We’re in a stage of rapid growth, we are scaling the team, our facilities and production which aligns with our strategy to expand beyond the UK, in the EU and the US markets.

From a product point-of-view, there’s unlimited potential to scale the capabilities of our digital twin product.

What sets your company apart from the competition?

It’s Dexory’s innovative combination of hardware and software that sets us apart. We capture the data with our autonomous robots, and we digitise, interpret, analyse it in real time, and turn the data into insights via our DexoryView platform.

Our team of experts have developed a robust and safe end-to-end solution.

Which other countries do you operate in or export to?

Dexory currently operates in the UK, but are looking to expand across Europe, particularly Germany and in the US.

How future proof and flexible are your solutions?

DexoryView is a very flexible solution, as it is scalable and customisable to the needs of the customers. We understand that some customers have legacy platforms and processes, which we are able to integrate into. We are able to integrate with any other logistics data platform, typically the WMS.

What would you say are the biggest trends shaping the warehousing and logistics industry?

Technology has revolutionised most industries and the warehousing and logistics industry is now starting to look into it. The industry has started to explore robotics & data-driven solutions to solve their challenges.

There’s currently a migration to cloud-based platforms, as it enables organisations to centralise supply chain data, providing greater transparency and collaboration, allowing organisations to quickly identify and resolve issues.

In the long term, Artificial Intelligence and machine learning will be leading the industry as it helps provide analysis of supply chain data and identifies patterns and trends. Organisations will be more data-driven and will be able to proactively address potential disruptions.

Tell us about a recent project your company was involved with.

The deployment of our solution in Maerk’s Kettering location is one of Dexory’s most recent projects. In the first two weeks, picking/shipping errors were reduced by 60% and a significant improvement of picking/put away efficiency by quickly locating items was observed. The instant access to stock data daily allows for the team to address issues in the morning, instead of spending the night to manually stock check.

So far, the project is successful, and discussions to deploy across other Maerk’s locations are ongoing.
