Foodex Manufacturing Solutions returns this month to the NEC, Birmingham (24th – 26th April). Opening its doors for the first time in five years as part of the UK Food & Drink Shows, the flagship event for the processing, packaging and logistics industries will offer visitors an unrivalled opportunity to see the latest trends, products and challenges set to shape the industry in 2023 and beyond.

With the show fast approaching, we’ve rounded up our top 5 reasons to register and visit ahead of the show’s opening.

1. A Showcase of Innovation

A fourth industrial revolution, centred on technology, automation and sustainability has been on the manufacturing agenda for several years and a range of the products set to be on show are testament to this. Consider Tenero-F Gel by Devro Ltd, a 100% plant-based coextrusion gel for fresh sausages, which is being introduced to the market for the first time at the show. Find them on Stand N151. Meanwhile, Air Products Plc (Stand E79) will be showcasing their Freshline® Smart Technology which is set to revolutionise current cryogenic freezing processes. Over 70 products at Foodex have been stamped with the ‘Innovation’ seal of approval.

2. Big Name Exhibitors

With nearly 300 exhibitors expected on the show floor, there’s going to be a real wealth of products on display. Bosch Industrial Boilers (Stand E91), Chiorino UK Ltd (Stand C91), Detectamet Detectable Products (Stand L151), FPS Food Process Solutions Corp (Stand G78), Metcalfe Catering Equipment Ltd (Stand K61), Konica Minolta (Stand H29) and Pedrollo Distribution (Stand K21) are just a handful of the brands preparing to showcase their wares at the show in April.

3. Unrivalled Expertise

A speaker line-up including industry heavyweights such as Julianne Ponan, MBE, CEO & Founder of Creative Nature; Dan Crossley, Executive Director of the Food Ethics Council; Keith Thornhill, Head of Food & Beverage Automation UK & Ireland at Siemens; and Rod Addy, Director General at Provision Trade Federation, will be taking to the Food Manufacture Live Stage to discuss and engage with many of the complex issues facing the industry today. Q&A sessions at the end of each panel discussion will also allow visitors the opportunity to tap into our speakers’ specialist knowledge.

4. Ingredients Zone

Foodex Manufacturing Solutions will also feature the Ingredients Zone in 2023, a highly-specialist sector dedicated to giving those brands a platform to showcase the most ground-breaking new ingredients on the market. Mibelle Biochemistry which offers unique botanical actives for nutraceutical supplements and functional food will be on Stand D201 whilst Foodology by Univar Solutions, a team dedicated to the unique distribution and technical innovation needs of the food and nutrition ingredient industries helping shape the ‘future of food’, will be on stand Stand F191.

5. Food Manufacture Live Programme: The Race to Net-Zero

The Food & Drink Federation has set its members the ambition of being net-zero by 2040. Is this achievable and what is being done across the industry? This seminar discusses what priorities food and drink businesses should have and the impact rising inflation and the cost-of-living crisis could have on this target. 12:30pm – 1:15pm, Tuesday 25th April.
