The Wicke Group is one of the Worlds largest castor and wheel manufacturers with a workforce exceeding 1000 persons and a presence in over 20 of the Worlds major economies. Established in 1866, they are known globally as a reliable solution provider and supply partner to major manufacturers

Key markets include Fork Truck, Retail, Automotive and Aerospace but material handling solutions are required in almost every industrial sector. Castors and Wheels may be one of the most overlooked parts but they are a major component without which internal logistics systems cannot operate effectively.

With a customer focussed ethos centred on quality, technically driven solutions whilst retaining cost-optimisation, Wicke is the logical choice as a reliable supply partner for specialised Drive and Load wheels as well as a vast range of industrial castors and wheels.

Wicke manufacturing facilities are located in the head office in Germany, Czech Republic and China, with Industry leading CAD modelling, testing and supply management systems but, never one to “rest on its laurels”, Wicke is launching “Wicke World Wide 2030” its largest ever production and logistical investment encompassing all 3 production centres:

A new automated warehouse with 22,000 additional storage locations as well as a new packing and despatch centre will be constructed in Germany, this will assist in the stock investment program which will, in turn, allow even more flexibility and improved response times. Both Germany and China will benefit from new Urethane facilities with automatization and robotization of key processes. Furthermore the Czech Republic and China factories will receive new rubber processing machinery. In addition, the National Service Centres throughout Europe will see increased investment in stock holding and infrastructure to better serve their markets.

As well as hard infrastructure Wicke values its employees as the main driver for its continued success. As such, the company invests in people in the form of continuous personal development and training together with a policy that actively encourages employees of all levels to contribute to problem solving and innovations.

This is the strength of Wicke: to continuously invest in itself and new technologies in order to support its customers.

Wickes latest tyre development “DriveThane”® offers the highest dynamic performances in Drive and Load wheels whilst reducing exposure to supply and cost risks within the traditional NDIThane®/Vulkollan® (under licence of Covestro AG) materials. This new product combines with the existing range of established Wicke urethane derivatives including materials for High Speed, Wet Grip and Anti Static applications to ensure that their product portfolio is able to accommodate the most exacting of their customers demands.

Wicke Service centres exist in the UK and all major European countries to satisfy the customer demands in their respective markets. Wicke UK operates a large warehouse centrally located in the West Midlands holding extensive stocks for next day despatch. Wicke UK’s experienced technical team work collaboratively with their customers and liaise with the design team to ensure that, together, they find the best possible solution to the clients requirements. It is the personal touch and quality of product and supply that lies at the heart of Wicke.
