Multimodal 2022 will bring together thousands of supply chain decision makers to network and learn from the experts over a three-day exhibition and seminar series between the 14th and 16th June at the Birmingham NEC.

Marking its 15th year, Multimodal puts shippers, retailers, manufacturers, wholesalers, importers, and exporters in front of exhibitors who offer the latest logistics and supply chain solutions.

“We have experienced tremendous support from the industry at large as the uptake of stands and delegate registrations are very strong,” said Robert Jervis, Director, Multimodal.

The free-to-attend show will offer a unique opportunity to make valuable contact with new prospects as well as existing clients and suppliers.

New to the show will be the Institute of Export & International Trade (IOE&IT) pavilion alongside the well-received British International Freight Association (BIFA) Freight Forwarders Village, a simple and cost-effective showcase for the products and services they offer.

Exhibitors at Multimodal include DP World, A.P. Moller – Maersk, Dachser, Kuehne + Nagel, and Ocean Network Express, as well as Malcolm Logistics, Maritime Transport and MSC.

The seminar sessions will bring together thought leaders from across the supply chain to share insight on the importance of sustainability and resilience.

The seminars will open with a keynote speech on Logistics UK’s Logistics Report 2022: The Resilience of our Sector Across all Modes by Chief Executive, David Wells.

The opening plenary session will examine the drive towards integrated logistics by some of the larger players in the sector and ask if this offers the best solution for supply chain resilience.

Chaired by Peter Livey, Managing Director (Great Britain) & Global Environmental Ambassador, HMM, panellists include representatives from Maersk and WIN Logistics.

“Lean ‘Just In Time’ is out, ‘Just In Case’ is in, so what changes, which actors, and what business models are appropriate to bring agility, stability, and security going forward?” says Livy.

Networking opportunities

This year visitors to Multimodal can take part in two networking events; the Multimodal Awards on Tuesday 14th June and the Multimodal Mixer on Wednesday 15th starting at 5pm.

Over 850 guests are to attend the networking gala dinner for the Multimodal Awards which has become the UK’s industry standard.

This year, a new category will recognise proven commitment to port health and safety with the winner required to demonstrate innovation and progress to improving health and safety for their staff or the wider industry.

Entries are open for the Multimodal Awards 2022, which recognise excellence and best practice across the logistics industry, and include eight voted for, four judged, and two nominated categories.

Thousands of readers of the Multimodal newsletter will vote for best in breed across the modes, as well as Best Port, Pallet Network, 3PL, and Technology Company.

The Best Innovation in Port Safety Award is added to The Shipper/Partner of the Year Award, The Young Logistics Professional of the Year Award, and The Multimodal Sustainability Award, which are judged by an independent panel of industry experts.

“This year, as well as celebrating companies across the modes, we will be shining a light on businesses who are committed to creating long term value, taking into account how they operate in the ecological, social, and economic environment,” said Jervis.

“We also want to recognise tech innovators who are doing so much to drive our industry forwards.”

The Awards, now in their eighth edition, recognise excellence and best practice across the logistics industry.

The Multimodal event app will once again feature a match-making service to connect shippers to each other and to our exhibitors, ensuring visitors and stand holders make the most out of their time at the show. For more information visit www.multimodal.org.uk.
