Packaging Innovations and Empack 2022, the nation’s flagship packaging and contract packing event, has released a preview of some of the product launches taking place when the show returns to the NEC on 25 & 26 May. The event will allow visitors to experience the latest packaging products, and have face-to-face conversations with buyers and suppliers.
Epson will unveil its ColorWorks C4000E Label Printer, offering high-quality, high-resolution, four-colour print output. The C4000 range can be integrated and connected with existing systems and use gloss or matte black ink, which are smudge, water, and fade resistant.
Excelerate will launch its Flow stretch film, designed for light to medium pallets. The film provides an aerated wrap, using minimal plastic, and can be utilised for a range of functions across the horticultural sector.
Item Products will display its latest innovation, a carton closure which enables corrugated packaging to be re-used. The closure system replaces tape or staples, which can damage corrugated boxes.
Greiner Packaging will present its new K3® cardboard-plastic combination. The product features a tear-tab which allows an outer cardboard wrapper to separate from a plastic cup for recycling.
Camvac will showcase ExtraPET PCR, a high barrier lidding film with over 30 percent post-consumer recycled content. It can be used to package processed fresh meat, poultry, vegetable, and bakery products, and is designed to reduce plastic going to landfill.
Finally, Schur Star Systems will debut a range of bagging machines, which support different shapes and sizes, and can facilitate semi-automatic and automatic filling. They can also be combined with other functions, including weighing, processing, marking, and labelling.
