Everyone knows that the Espex and CEIL brand names mean quality – products and systems you can rely on to keep your logistics operation running at 100%. But in the modern marketplace it’s not enough to just supply the best products – Espex Batteries realises the need to be at the cutting edge of customer service too. Therefore we’ve engaged in a number of core business projects aimed at reducing response time and meet the higher efficiency demanded by businesses across the UK.
New depots online – We are now stocking products in depots strategically located in Bradford and the West Midlands. Bradford is perfect location for providing service to customers in Northern England and going up to Glasgow, with our service engineers stationed in Bradford to enable quick response.
The Midlands depot is ideally positioned to offer even faster delivery of products and service in the Midlands and Manchester areas. New headquarters – Barry, South Wales, is just outside Cardiff and close to road, air, sea and rail links – it’s an ideal location for Espex Batteries to open a large new state-of-the-art office and warehouse complex.
The 15,000 sq ft warehouse can hold up to 30,000 traction cells and associated parts and accessories, truly making Espex the first choice for forklift battery orders on any scale.
New sales manager – After 13 years of loyal service, Kristian Shapley’s proactive approach, product knowledge and boundless energy have been rewarded with a promotion to Sales Manager. Along with his talented sales team strategically stationed in Cardiff, Northampton and Harrogate, Kristian will oversee the UK and Ireland markets.
Lithium-ion on the cards? – Espex is well known for its supply of lead-acid batteries, a core product in serving the UK’s logistics and distribution industries. But it would be foolish to ignore lithium-ion entirely; that’s why our parent company – Exide Industries – has entered into a joint venture to produce just such batteries. A module and battery pack assembly line is expected to be operational by Q2 2019 and a lithium-ion cell production plant is expected to be in operation by mid 2020. In the intervening period, cells will be sourced from Leclanché’s plant in Willstätt, Germany.
Quality standards – ISO9001:2015 – In accordance with our drive for everimproving quality, we’ve worked hard to upgrade our a management system to the latest version – ISO9001:2015. “We’ve long been proud of our reputation for customer service,” comments Chief Executive of Expex Batteries, Amit Ghosal. “But our aim is to be the best in the industry. It’s important for us that our customers are not just satisfied but delighted; we reward their loyalty with a friendly and flexible approach that we’re now able to back up with class-leading facilities that prove our forwardlooking attitude to our business and the industry as a whole.”
