Indigo Software announces the appointment of two graduates to its warehouse management software development team, as part of the company’s continued business expansion programme. At a time when many UK software companies are reliant upon software developers based overseas in an attempt to reduce costs, Indigo Software decided to look locally for new talent and has employed outstanding graduates from regional universities.
Thomas Johnson and Kyle Hepple, who both achieved 1st Class Honours Degrees, have each been awarded full time employment contracts with Indigo as software development specialists, following the completion of their respective degree courses at Northumbria University and Sunderland University. In each case, the graduates had also previously been given 12 month work placements with Indigo, allowing them an opportunity to experience life at a software company and use these insights to inform their final year dissertation projects.
Many companies have expressed a concern that post Brexit, young UK university graduates, many of whom had voted to ‘remain’, will be leaving the country to work overseas. Added to this, talented graduates who study at leading universities in the North East often end up leaving the region to find work in London and the South East, due to a lack of local employment opportunities.
