Liverpool based SMS Sheet Metal Services looked to Aganto to help improve their lead times by housing additional stock on-site in their new temporary building.
Experts in sheet metal fabrication and finishing services, SMS provide customers with a ‘one stop shop’ supporting them in the design of their products, fabrication and finishing all to a high quality standard.
Previously SMS were ordering material on an ad hoc basis for specific contracts but soon felt it would be easier, more effective and quicker to hold stock on site. The company came to Aganto, the UK’s leading temporary building specialists, to trail the sheet stock before making a massive commitment.
The building is 10 x 20 x 5.2m with a link straight into the existing premises, allowing a more streamlined and efficient means in which to hold stock.
Once the unit has been erected SMS will integrate the stock control system with that of a leading stockist web based software, therefore deliveries will be automated when buffer levels have been reached, thus improving production and lead times.
Sheet Metal Services’ operations director Craig Bolton explains: “We researched the market prior to deciding on the right building to rent. We selected Aganto for build quality, reliability, price and overall customer service from the initial contract to the sign off after the building was erected.”
