Taylors Transport International of Huthwaite, Nottinghamshire, has moved from a two acre premises at Nunn Brook Road to Export Drive which spans three acres as it marks four decades in business and 10 years of international haulage.

The move is thanks to Taylors experiencing significant growth since becoming a member of Pall-Ex in 2013. The firm currently turns over £600,000 annually through the network, which provides the haulier with contracts in the UK and abroad.

In tandem with its 10th anniversary of service across Europe, Taylors has purchased a fleet of 14 new Volvo trucks in the company’s red and white livery and a specially designed one-off Volvo FH4 6×2 PAsuper in jet black, to mark four decades on the road.

Managing director Alan Taylor said: “It’s rewarding for everyone involved in our team to be able to mark this special milestone with a move to bigger and better facilities. The new premises and fleet enable us to operate more efficiently and improve service.

“My father started out with a van delivering newspapers to local shops. We’ve come a long way since. The company now turns over £20M and employs more than 300 staff. We’ve endured several recessions but still manage to continuously build great relationships with our customers and suppliers. Long may it continue.”

Alan’s father Barry started the company in 1974 with an Austin Morris BMC. Forty years later it has 200 trucks and 300 trailers, transporting goods and materials to destinations across the UK and the globe.

Kevin Buchanan, group managing director at Pall-Ex Group, said: “Taylors is a shining example of what can be achieved by working hard to ensure a consistently high quality of service for customers. Its integrity and profile makes it an ideal match for Pall-Ex, and we look forward to celebrating future milestones in partnership with Taylors.”
