Andreas Finken, President of topVOX US, Managing Director topVOX UK

WLN – First of all, what does your role involve day to day? Has it changed since last year?

At topVOX we focus on the processes optimization via voice. One focus is the logistics sector, but we do receive many enquiries from the industry and maintenance sector. My role at topVOX entails offering our customers the best possible solution for effective organization of employees and processes in intralogistics.

WLN – 2013 – How was it for you?

2013 was successful for topVOX. We saw a high demand for our Plug&Play solution in the UK. As a preconfigured out of the box package for voice picking Lydia® Plug&Play was the first choice for small and medium sized companies. Moreover we gained new customers who have selected topVOX as the technological leader of voice directed workflows.

WLN – How has the Order Picking category been performing this year? What do you see as the most significant recent developments?

The Order Picking category has performed very well. We consider the increase in smaller order sizes and seasonal peaks as significant recent developments over the last two years. This is based on the request for multi-order solutions and rental hardware that we experienced in this period. Thanks to our speaker independent solution Lydia® and our Rent a Voxter program it is easy for our customers to deal with these new demands in internal logistics processes.

We also see a significant increase in requirements for ‘flexible’ solutions and in request for customers to be able to write their own solutions which we will happily support.

Voxter_EliteWLN – Have you moved into any new business areas in the last 12 months?

In the last 12 month we saw a healthy grow of speech based solutions in the healthcare, industry and maintenance market.

WLN – What was your biggest investment to improve your business this year? What else have you done?

We focused on expanding our partner network to provide the best possible support to our customers worldwide. And we extended our technical team due to the high demand for our products Lydia® and Voxter®.

WLN – How are your existing products and services doing? Have you developed or upgraded your existing products and services recently?

Our products and services are doing well. To meet our customers’ demands even better we launched new support and maintenance models for our voice solutions. It is now an all-round flexible package that we offer which is characterised by total cost-transparency and increased cost-effectiveness.

WLN – Have you launched any new products or services, and how are they performing?

With our major release Lydia® 7.0 we have set new standards on the logistics voice market. We extended the new release with additional modules to enhance picking quality and efficiency even more by providing an easy-of-use voice solution.

Our speech client Voxter® Elite Edition currently ranks first among mobile voice computers and offers the fastest voice recognition system for logistics purposes. Together with our Bluetooth backhand scanner and Bluetooth headset we provide perfect hardware equipment for voice deployment.

WLN – What’s been your company’s single biggest achievement in business this year?

We are looking forward to implement our voice solution with one of the most important 3PL company worldwide. And we are really pleased that several industrial companies have selected topVOX as their voice supplier worldwide.

WLN – What was your favourite business moment in 2013?

My favourite business moments were to see the perfect international teamwork of topVOX in sales and support and the positive customer response on our products and services.

One new customer stated that without the topVOX voice solution being implemented at the start of their annual peak season, they would never have coped. We implemented the ‘Plug & Play’ in 1 day and they achieved their volumes with 6 pickers where they had planned an additional 13 temporary staff that they did not need.
