Schwank, the world leader in gas fired infrared radiant heating, has launched a new app to help to highlight potential savings in the heating bills of industry and business. Based on the practical and easy-to-use energy calculator at www.schwank.co.uk this invaluable new tool is now available on Android and iPhone operating systems.
The Schwank Energy Calculator App, which can be downloaded for free takes the user through a range of logical steps to demonstrate the savings that could be made in heating interior spaces within an industrial or commercial building for both new buildings and retrofits. A comparison is made between the gas consumption of the existing system and if a new system incorporating the latest energy saving technology is installed.
This estimate is reached through a set of questions involving the building’s dimensions and age, desired room temperature (default setting 19ºC), number of working hours, and current gas price. The final calculation will not only indicate energy and cost savings that can be made but also show the reduced carbon reduction levels that can be achieved.
It is particularly important to have this kind of information available as a mobile application since it opens up opportunities of instant energy assessments for site visits, project management exercises, calculations for head offices of their local and overseas branch costs and a range of other requirements. Inventors of the first gas fired infrared heaters, Schwank‘s expertise in this sector enables users to obtain energy cost savings of between 30% and 50% by switching from a conventional heating system to Schwank infrared heaters.
Steve Sherman, Managing Director of Schwank UK, commented: “It is essential to provide professionals such as facilities managers with the resources they need to do their job transferred to their mobiles and an app is the ideal means to make rapid calculations. The resulting savings estimates are for guideline purposes, since a full and detailed assessment of the building would need to be carried out for a totally accurate figure to be arrived at. However, it is a very useful starting point, supporting both cost efficiencies and environmental objectives.”
