Interroll has officially opened its newly refurbished UK customer experience centre in Kettering, with a sell-out launch event bringing together customers, system integrators, industry partners and Interroll colleagues from across the business.

The event gave visitors the opportunity to see Interroll’s latest material handling and automation technologies operating in a live environment, including its award-winning MCP PLAY modular conveyor platform and our new Modular ChainBelt Sorter MC-S.

The official opening was conducted by the Mayor of Kettering, Councillor Lauren Glanfield, who joined Interroll managing director Hilton Campbell, Mr Ulrich Engenhardt, Interroll Group CTO and guests for the ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The investment has transformed the existing facility at Interroll’s UK headquarters into a dedicated customer environment designed to support customers and system integrators throughout the project lifecycle.

Visitors to the launch were able to see the MCP PLAY and MC-S systems operating, explore Interroll’s wider portfolio and take part in technical presentations and factory tours. The event also provided an opportunity for one-to-one discussions with Interroll specialists about current automation challenges and potential applications.

Hilton Campbell, managing director at Interroll UK, said: “We were absolutely delighted with how the event went. It was a great day, the centre was full and the feedback from customers and industry contacts was extremely positive.

“The fact that we were sold out shows there is a real appetite to see these technologies working in person and to have practical conversations around automation, efficiency and the challenges facing operations today.

“That is exactly what we wanted the customer experience centre to provide. Customers can bring their own requirements and products into the facility, see the technology running and work directly with our team to understand what might be possible for their operation.”

The centre features a running MCP PLAY installation alongside the MC-S sorter, giving visitors the opportunity to see the technologies operating rather than relying solely on presentations or static demonstrations.

MCP PLAY is Interroll’s latest evolution of its Modular Conveyor Platform, combining modular conveyor technology with software and control features designed to simplify system design, installation, commissioning and operation.

The MC-S is a compact modular chain belt sorter designed for throughput of between 3,000 and 8,000 items per hour, with capacity for up to 50 destinations. Its mechanical architecture is designed to provide reliable, gentle product handling while supporting straightforward maintenance and high system availability.

A static module of Interroll’s Vertical Cross Belt Sorter is also on display, allowing visitors to explore the company’s wider approach to automated sortation.

The new centre forms part of Interroll’s continued investment in its UK operation, which has been based in Kettering for more than 10 years and serves customers across Britain and Ireland.

Following the successful launch, Interroll is now opening the customer experience centre to customer and partner visits. The company is encouraging system integrators, OEMs and end-users interested in exploring material handling and automation solutions to contact its UK team to arrange a visit.
