Skipper™, the leading manufacturer of safety management products, has introduced the revolutionary C8 safety barrier system.
Created with versatility in mind, the system provides superior levels of safety and stability across a range of surfaces and environments, thanks to its injection-moulded reflective panels and dual connectors that can articulate 360 degrees.
Unlike other barriers on the market, the C8 has patented dual locks with magnets in the connectors, joining the panels at the top and the bottom. This offers more security than industry standard single hook and eye connectors, and ensures superior stability over uneven and textured surfaces, which is further supported by anti-trip feet.
The C8 is easy to adapt and transport for any size job, as it can be broken down into 1m x 1m sections, meaning each bevelled, smooth-edged panel can be moved easily, even in smaller vehicles (unlike larger chapter 8 barriers), and they can also be attached to Skipper’s wider existing range of retractable barrier and waste management products, giving them even more versatility.
Direction, signage and guidance are key elements of a good safety barrier system and C8 provides them in a number of ways. The striking bonded chevrons in the panels offer extra reflectivity and the panels can feature a unique road light at each join, which is powered by rechargeable Li-po batteries providing weeks of power. The batteries and interval PCB are all hidden in the framework of the barrier, keeping this groundbreaking technology secure. The light is controlled by Skipper’s free app, allowing the customer to manage the colour, timing and flash sequence of the light. What’s more, the C8 panels are connected with a continuous top rail, making them seamless for people to run their hands along, thereby offering an area for tailored touch direction for the partially sighted or blind.
The product can also be tailored to promote any event or company: the reflective chevrons can be delivered in a range of colours, as can the light on top. In addition, logos and messaging can be added to the horizontal strips on each panel, depending on usage compliance, making C8 ideal for events or industries where consistent messaging and ownership is key.
“We truly are revolutionising safety barriers with C8,” says Debbie Philip, Sales Director at Skipper. “Unlike other products on the market, ours combines a patented, robust system, that is easy to connect and transport, with bespoke branding, lighting and safety features for all kinds of traffic and pedestrian safety – scalable across any size project, site or event.”
