What’s the most exciting thing about your job?

The diversity around responsibility, driving EBITDA growth but maintaining high levels of customer service, never detracting away from creating value for our customers.

Who has inspired you most in your career?

I have been very fortunate to have worked with some great people, Debbie McGowan at CEVA Logistics, Beth Reid during my time at UGI, both taught me what good looks like and to never be afraid to challenge the status quo.

If you were an item in a warehouse, what would you be?

I have answered this previously, but for today I would be a folding crate, the versatility of the product, the savings through transportation all create a real strong value proposition to the end user and it’s also a great replacement for single use packaging such as cardboard.

If you had your time again, what would you do different?

Great question – If I were to have my time again, I wouldn’t change much, as I am a strong believer in that everything happens for a reason. Maybe I would have invested more into myself at school.

What’s your favourite pastime?

Time at home with the family, now the evenings are drawing out it gives you more time to relax with a dog walk or playing sport with the kids.

Do you play a sport, follow a sport or support a team?

I’m an occasional golfer and my handicap fully supports that – Liverpool through and through and an avid fan of F1.

What’s the most embarrassing thing that’s happened in your career?

There have been several, probably a couple of examples of my competitiveness on team nights out, be it Lazer Tag, Crazy Golf or Curling – I am far too competitive and sometimes that takes over.

Do you have any hidden talents?

Unsure if it’s a talent, but I can very easily identify a make and model of a car from seeing just a tiny aspect of the vehicle.

Who would be your favourite party guest?

As a fan of F1, I think Christian Horner could be a good guest.

What is the greatest luxury in your life?

Time – something that should never be taken for granted.

If you won the Lottery, what would you do?

Retire.

Who or what makes you laugh?

My wife and kids – daily.

What’s your dream holiday?

At this moment, I would take a beach holiday, recharge the batteries and seek that much needed vitamin D.

What’s your favourite music album?

Currently more of a playlist, created from recent Peloton classes, sometimes the music can make all the difference in a spin class.

What’s your favourite movie or Netflix series?

Recently I watched I Swear and I would highly recommend this.

What would be your advice to someone thinking about coming into the industry (apart from “don’t do it”)?

Quite the opposite, do it – every day is varied and having a purpose is key, never settle for anything less.
