Logistics automation provider, KNAPP has developed an artificial intelligence platform that doesn’t simply run processes, but anticipates them.

Launched at the recent LogiMAT exhibition in Stuttgart, the KNAPP Brain software is the first of its kind to combine several different AI-powered software solutions – all owned by KNAPP – under one, unified platform.
KNAPP Brain offers solutions for the entire value chain, reducing complexity and boosting efficiency from forecasting to the last mile. The platform’s solutions enhance and accelerate decision making concerning the myriad and complex challenges in intralogistics – everything from resource planning to optimised order fulfilment. In addition to honing processes at every step, KNAPP Brain transforms data into real-time intelligence to enable faster and better decision making.
Harness the power of AI
Today’s logistics challenges include dealing with a very wide range of items, major fluctuations in orders and ever-higher customer service expectations. To meet these demands in an efficient and cost-effective way, companies need to analyse and evaluate massive quantities of data in real time. While traditional software systems do their best, they often result in decisions that are suboptimal or simply made too late. This is where KNAPP Brain comes in – its high-performance software tools process complex information to make finding the right decision faster and easier, making processes along the entire value chain more efficient.
In today’s logistics landscape, where multiple processes run in parallel and influence one another, AI enables logistics teams to reduce errors, speed up fulfilment, improve on-time delivery rates and stabilise workflows. Harnessing the power of AI, KNAPP Brain allows companies to increase productivity, lower operational costs and reduce the stress on their teams. In short, KNAPP Brain provides competitive advantage by allowing you to do more with less.
Benefits along the chain
KNAPP Brain brings the benefits of AI to every process step along the value chain. Firstly, the platform enables precise forecasting of order and item flows. This allows companies to benefit from reliable planning, meaning they can minimise bottlenecks and stockouts, while making the most of their capacities. KNAPP Brain also co-ordinates resources, automates order prioritisation and makes processes seamless, leading to higher output, with fewer errors.
For applications with robotic technologies, the image-processing, grip-point calculation and packing-pattern planning capabilities of KNAPP Brain enable robotic systems to detect, identify, handle and sort items more precisely than ever before. Finally, for last-mile efficiency, the tools in KNAPP Brain create the optimal delivery route and plan the ideal loading pattern for vehicles, enhancing delivery efficiency.
Success for Softwarebites event
KNAPP Brain was just one of the software developments presented by KNAPP at its recent Softwarebites event. Held amid the breathtaking scenery of the Swiss Alps, this two-day event brought together KNAPP’s software specialists, partners and customers to exchange insights on the future of logistics software.
“This was the third edition of our annual Softwarebites meeting,” says Ben Carroll, IT Business Development Manager for KNAPP UK, “and it gets better every year. We were delighted to host a number of customers and prospective clients at this year’s event, which resulted in some very interesting discussions.”
As well as gaining insights into KNAPP’s software landscape – including the comprehensive KiSoft suite, SAP by KNAPP and the new KNAPP Brain AI platform – delegates enjoyed a boat trip on Lake Lucerne. They were also able to tour the global distribution centre of Victorinox, the name behind the iconic Swiss Army Knife. The logistics facility in Seewen features automation from KNAPP, including a fully integrated software solution.
