Over the next couple of decades, the future of warehousing in the United Kingdom is poised for transformation, driven by economic, technological, and environmental factors. Workplace safety requirements vary significantly from one site to another, particularly in environments where vehicles, machinery and pedestrians operate side by side. To help specifiers, contractors and end users make clearer, more informed decisions, Brandsafe has introduced a structured three-tier approach to impact protection: Essential, Core and Plus. Rather than treating impact safety as a one size fits all exercise, this tiered system reflects the reality of modern warehouses, factories and logistics hubs. Different zones carry different levels of impact risk, and protection should be matched accordingly.

Connected lighting has been around for many years, but it is only during the last decade that its use has become more widespread. Advances in technology, rising energy costs and growing consciousness of sustainability issues have all played their part in accelerating its popularity, helping it to become the go-to solution for those seeking an effective lighting system which delivers reduced energy use. Connected lighting systems are an effective way of reducing costs and energy use and are therefore something all contractors should be able to offer, says Chris Anderson, Technical Manager at Ansell Lighting.

Aurora is proud to announce the launch of its newly upgraded R6 Fire Rated Downlight Range, delivering smarter installation, enhanced performance, and a simplified product selection – all designed with contractors and specifiers in mind. At the heart of the upgrade is Aurora’s new FastRFix connector with LENNEL terminals, making wiring quicker, safer, and more intuitive on site. Installation is further streamlined with easy-glide soft springs, specifically engineered to perform smoothly in double plasterboard ceilings, reducing effort and installation time.

BDM, specialists in worldwide logistics for the beauty industry, required a full lighting and electrical upgrade to support its expanding operations. ECO UK Group was selected to deliver a lighting and electrical solution covering LV mains and sub-distribution systems, high-performance Pegasus LED warehouse lighting, emergency lighting compliant with BS5266, dedicated power supplies for HVAC, machinery, and office facilities and a future-proof design to accommodate operational growth. Eco UK Group supplied and installed over 1,500m of ladder racks, trays, and baskets for power, lighting, HVAC, and data cabling.

Warehouses will evolve into sophisticated, multi-functional spaces, built with sustainability and flexibility in mind to adapt to both immediate and long-term needs.
