At this time of year surfaces can be perilous, which means slip and trip accidents may become more frequent. There are plenty of seasonal factors to consider when avoiding these sorts of accidents including poor lighting, excess water from rain and wet and decaying leaves. The Health and Safety Executive’s guidance helps you to understand what causes slips and trips and how to prevent them. HSE’s slips and trips webpages also provide plenty of further information and resources, including advice on what to do next if there has been a slip or trip accident at work.

Rack Armour® is the leading polymer upright protector from Beaverswood. Its tough outer shell and energy-absorbing foam core absorb and deflect the impact, dispersing the energy safely and preventing damage to both the racking and the floor.
With complex equipment, tight spaces, and constant movement, the risks when carrying out materials handling operations in warehouses are real and ever-present. However, by combining the correct forklift training with fleet management solutions and operator assistance systems, warehouses can support safety standards while also improving operational efficiency. A comprehensive training programme that includes the tools needed to customise training to the specific site and trucks can help operations deliver fully compliant training in line with local regulations (which may vary), according to Yale.
Raxel Storage Systems is offering a new solution designed to enhance pedestrian safety in workplace environments. As technology advances, traditional painted floor markings are quickly being replaced by projected safety signs — a modern, cost-effective, and highly visible alternative that transforms how safety information is displayed. Raxel’s innovative LED safety projectors use low-energy, high-performance technology to project bright, crisp images directly onto floors or walls.
Warehouse racking is playing a key role in keeping stock safely in place. Damage to the racking risks the integrity of the structure and increases the chance of it failing. When that happens, tonnes of stock could fall and risk injuring your employees, hence the need for racking training, says Teepee.
With warehouses being busy and potentially dangerous places, the need to maintain stringent health and safety standards is vital.
